SB 933 -- RAILROAD POLICEMEN SPONSOR: Scott (Bruns) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Crime Prevention and Public Safety by a vote of 11 to 0. This bill transfers the duty of appointing railroad policemen from the Superintendent of the State Highway Patrol to the Director of the Department of Public Safety. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is needed to reflect in the statutes what is currently the practice in Missouri for the Department of Public Safety to regulate railroad policemen instead of the State Highway Patrol. Testifying for the bill was Senator Scott. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Kristina Jenkins, Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
